Between
Floors
produced/directed by Jen White
Between
Floors examines the human condition through a uniquely claustrophobic
lens, intercutting between five stuck elevators and the people
trapped inside them.
Awkwardly funny, numbingly tragic, anxiously crushing, and
ultimately liberating, the film features a colorful variety
of characters stripped of control, slowed to a halt, and forced
to reflect... until the doors open.

present
Carmen
|

George Bizet's "Carmen"
The story of the fiery and seductive
gypsy Carmen was first performed in Paris in 1875. Banned
by the Paris Opera House because of its spoken dialogue, "Carmen"
has become the most often performed opera in the world. Both
movies and Broadway hit musicals have been based upon the
music and
story.
"Carmen" features
some of the most well-loved music in the world, including
the sultry "Habañera," and the jubilant song
of the toreador. It is jam packed with sexy solos, rousing
choruses, impassioned arias.
The Rapides Symphony’s
2 hour concert production is replete with passion, jealousy
and lust in the tale of two love triangles that revolve around
a beguiling gypsy girl. Costumes and lighting enhance the
visual and dramatic pageantry.
Because the dialogue
is spoken and in English, the audience will be easily able
to follow along with the story set in Seville, Spain, in 1830.
